Gwahoddiad: Adolygiad Effaith Sesiwn Gydweithredol Utopias Bach
23.5.2024, 11-12:00 (Zoom)
Ar gyfer y Sesiwn Gydweithredol ar-lein hon hoffai Sarah Pogoda ein gwahodd i adolygu’r llwybr creadigol sydd wedi bod yn datblygu ers 2020 – yn, gyda, tuag at, i ffwrdd o, gan, trwy, o dan, dros, y tu hwnt i, y tu mewn i, ar draws, i mewn i, ar hyd, o'r neilltu, gan, fel, gyferbyn i, neu o amgylch gweithgareddau ymchwil-gysylltiedig Sarah Pogoda ac Utopias Bach.
Ydych chi’n cofio Gŵyl Saffaru, Gŵyl Metamorffosis, Gŵyl Metaboliaeth, Arddangosfa ‘This Buoy’s Life’, perfformiad Hirbarhad, chwilota Ynys Faelog, Blwch ‘Rescue Buoy’, ‘Hairppenings’ a llawer mwy?
Yn ystod y pedair blynedd diwethaf, mae ein cymuned wedi cyd-greu, cyd-ymchwilio, a chyd-ddychmygu bydysawd ymdrochi o iwtopias bach byrhoedlog, hirhoedlog, fertigol a llorweddol, rhugl a phydredig, sy’n tyfu ac sy’n ddibarhad, wedi’u hysbrydoli a’u cyffroi gan feddyliau, syniadau, cefnogaeth, beirniadaeth, arian, golygu, synau, symudiadau, cyfleoedd, a gwahoddiadau ei gilydd. Mae'n ymddangos yn amhosibl datblygu'r llwybr hwn, ond gadewch i ni roi cynnig arni. Ac efallai, gallwn hefyd drafod ble yr hoffem i'r llwybrau lluosog hyn fynd nesaf?
Pam gwneud hyn?
Dathliad o'n prosesau, gwerthfawrogiad o'n hymdrechion, parch at greadigrwydd gwaredigol celf, ymholi a chymuned. A ... naid trwy gylchoedd y byd academaidd yn y Deyrnas Unedig: Mae'n ofynnol i Sarah gyflwyno gwerth ei hymchwil i gyrff ariannu'r Deyrnas Unedig (gan gynnwys y llywodraeth) drwy gyflwyno'r hyn a elwir yn "astudiaethau achos effaith". Bydd y sesiwn gydweithredol hon yn cael ei recordio (os yw pawb yn cydsynio) a'i defnyddio fel tystiolaeth i gefnogi honiad Sarah o'r effaith y mae ei hymchwil yn ei chael ar fywyd diwylliannol (ac efallai cymdeithasol) Cymru.
Rwy’n atodi sleidiau gan Brifysgol Bangor sy’n egluro beth mae hyn yn ei olygu, ond fel crynodeb i ni, dau brif gwestiwn y mae’n rhaid i mi eu hateb wrth gyflwyno fy astudiaeth achos effaith fydd:
1. Pwy gafodd fudd o’m hymchwil a sut?
2. Sut gwnaeth fy ymchwil effeithio ar newid (mewn agweddau, ymddygiad, dealltwriaeth, gyrfaoedd, ymarfer, polisïau y tu hwnt i'r byd academaidd)?
Mae’n bwysig nad oes angen i mi fod yn achos/arweinydd uniongyrchol y llwybrau effaith hyn, ond disgwylir eisoes bod y llwybr yn datblygu’n gyflym iawn mewn llinynnau cymhleth, ar ryw adeg yn annibynnol ar yr ymchwilydd (fel yn achos ein cymuned [Utopias Bach a thu hwnt]). Gyda'n cymuned, mae gennym gyfle anhygoel unigryw i ail-gapio llwybrau dros gyfnod hir iawn. Mae hyn yn golygu nad yw ein hadolygiad wedi'i gyfyngu i ddigwyddiadau, projectau, datblygiadau, syniadau sy'n uniongyrchol gysylltiedig â'm hymchwil.
Gobeithiwn am bresenoldeb da. Unrhyw gwestiynau cyn y Sesiwn Gydweithredol, e-bostiwch Sarah (s.pogoda@bangor.ac.uk).
Impact-Review Collaboratory
23.5.2024, 11-12:00 (Zoom)
For this online Collaboratory Sarah Pogoda would like to invite us to review the creative trajectory that has been unfolding since 2020 – in, with, towards, away from, by, through, under, over, beyond, inside, out off, of, across, into, along, aside, from, as, at, opposite to, or around Utopias Bach and Sarah Pogoda's research-related activities.
Do you remember the Saffaru Festival, Metamorffosis Festival, Metaboliaeth Festival, This Buoy's Life Exhibition, Hirbarhad performance, Ynys Faelog explorations, Rescue Buoy box, Hairppenings and many more?
In the past four years, our community has co-created, co-investigated, and co-imagined an entangled universe of ephemeral, durational, vertical and horizontal, fluent and rotting, growing and transitory utopias bach, inspired and exspired by each other’s thoughts, ideas, support, critique, money, editing, sounds, movements, opportunities, and invitations. It seems impossible to unfold this trajectory, but let's give it a try. And maybe, we can also discuss where we would like these multiple trajectories go next?
Why doing this?
A celebration of our processes, an appreciation of our efforts, an esteem of the emancipatory creativity of art, of inquiry and of community. And ... a jump though the hoops of academia in the UK: Sarah is required to present the value of her research to UK funding bodies (incl. government) by delivering so-called "impact case studies". This collaboratory will be recorded (if everyone is consent) and used as evidence to support Sarah's claim of the impact her research has for the cultural (and maybe social) life in Wales.
I am attaching slides from Bangor University that explain what this involves, but as a summary for us, two main questions that I have to answer when I submit my impact case study will be:
1. Who benefitted from my research and how?
2. How did my research effect change (in attitudes, behaviour, understanding, careers, practice, policies beyond academia)?
Important is that I do not need to be the immediate cause/lead of this impact trajectories, but it is already expected that the trajectory unfolds very quickly in complex strands, at some point independently from the researcher (as in the case of our community [Utopias Bach and beyond]). With our community, we have the unique amazing opportunity to re-cap trajectories over a very long period. This means, our review is not limited to events, projects, developments, ideas directly connected to my research.
We hope for a good turn-out. Any questions prior to the Collaboratory, please contact Sarah (s.pogoda@bangor.ac.uk).
Avant-Quilt! You are also invited to bring your Quilting materials, to cwilt-as-we-go, as part of Cwilt-UtopiasBach-Quilt (see here for more details about the Quilt)
